Learn from the best. Work with the best.

At MGH Institute of Health Professions, healthcare is our singular area of focus—integrating classroom learning with research and clinical experience. Our Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN) & Direct-Entry Master of Science in Nursing (DEN) programs are designed for individuals who hold a non-nursing Bachelor’s degree and want to enter the field of nursing.

Both programs prepare you to take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX). Our 2023 NCLEX Pass Rate averaged 97%.

ABSN

  • Students experience clinical rotations at Mass General Hospital, and graduates frequently land a job within the Mass General Brigham system.
  • Our ABSN program is tied for 2nd in New England by U.S. News & World Report.
  • Choose between full- or part-time options and earn your degree in just 12 or 24-months

DEN

  • During your first three semesters in our DEN-Masters program, you'll take prelicensure nursing courses and build foundational knowledge necessary for passing the NCLEX-RN licensing exam.
  • After the third semester, you can then work part-time as a registered nurse, gaining valuable clinical experience while completing the requirements to become a nurse practitioner.

MGH’s connection to the IHP was a big deciding factor to me, I mean, it’s a world-renowned hospital. It was important to do the clinicals here, in fact, I did my preceptorship on the floor that I currently work on. Also, the program is set apart from other nursing programs because all classes are in-person, which I found super helpful.

The MGH Institute of Health Professionals really prepared me well for the role. I felt like I had a really strong knowledge base, a really rich background of clinical experiences that the Institute had prepared me for.
