  • Full-time option: Immerse yourself in an intensive 12-month nursing program to transition quickly into the nursing profession.
  • Part-time option: Complete the program in 24 months, balancing your studies with work or personal commitments while receiving the same comprehensive education.

What Sets Our ABSN Program Apart

At MGH Institute of Health Professions, we provide a rigorous curriculum designed to prepare you for the challenges of nursing. Here’s how we set you up for success:

  • Exceptional NCLEX Success: Achieved a 91% first-time pass rate on the NCLEX (5-year average), surpassing both state and national averages.
  • High Employment Rate: According to the 2025 graduate surveys, 100% of ABSN graduates were employed within 12 months, and all were employed in roles directly related to their IHP degree. On average, it took less than 2 months for the ABSN graduates to receive their first job offers after starting their job search.
  • Clinical Access to Mass General Brigham: Every ABSN student has at least one clinical rotation within the Mass General Brigham system, typically at Massachusetts General Hospital, offering invaluable training in nationally renowned healthcare settings.
  • Extensive Clinical Network: Our network of more than 800 healthcare partners, ensures students graduate prepared and confident, ready to deliver exceptional, evidence-based care from day one.
  • Cutting Edge Facilities: Our high-tech simulation lab mirrors healthcare environments, featuring acute-care rooms and interactive simulators for hands-on experience.

MGH’s connection to the IHP was a big deciding factor to me, I mean, it’s a world-renowned hospital. It was important to do the clinicals here, in fact, I did my preceptorship on the floor that I currently work on. Also, the program is set apart from other nursing programs because all classes are in-person, which I found super helpful.

The interprofessional professionalism is certainly at the heart of the MGH Institute. By having that model where you have exposure to a number of different specialists, it really affords you the ability to have a deep understanding of where your scope of practice is as a nurse practitioner, and how you can integrate that with an interdisciplinary team in a clinical setting to achieve successful care plans for your patients.
